With reference to our telegram of the

20th September to the Colonial Secretary, Hong Kong

and the reply dated 7th October, (copies of which are

attached), we enclose for return a draft of the

agreement which it is proposed to use for the engagement

of the six Constables, whose recruitment was authorised

in Colonial Office letter No. 13845/33 of the 3rd October.

We should be glad to learn whether you approve the terms

of the draft, which is based on that approved in the

minute from your Department, No. 92692/32 of the 20th

August 1932, and modified in accordance with the Colonial

Secretary's telegram of the 7th October.

Will you also please advise us whether

there is any objection to our arranging for a supply of

the form of agreement, as finally approved, for use in

connection with future engagements as well as in the case

of the present appointments.
